Former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise has sent a heart felt message on Twitter to fans after he returned to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The 36-year-old featured at a packed stadium which saw a Liverpool legends team take on their Real Madrid counterparts.
The Reds ended up 4-3 winners with goals from Michael Owen, John Aldridge and a Robbie Fowler double.

Riise joined Liverpool in 2001, leaving French Ligue 1 side Monaco for a fee of £4million.
He starred in 341 matches for the club across seven years and was part of the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup winning teams.
The full-back ended up leaving for Serie A giants Roma in 2008, but he was unable to recapture the form he showed at Liverpool and he spent the last few years of his career at Fuljam, Delhi Dynamos and Chennaiyin FC.
Riise has been without a club since his contract ended with Indian side Channaiyin in October and although there hasn’t been an announcement that he has retired it is likely his playing days have come to an end.
In other Liverpool news, Arsene Wenger has revealed he had an agreement with this Reds striker.
