John Hartson delivers to-the-point verdict on Celtic Europa League draw

John Hartson has taken to social media to discuss Celtic’s Europa League draw against Zenit St Petersburg.

The draw pits the Scottish champions against a team they have never played before, and the former Bhoys striker used his personal Twitter account to offer a brief preview of the game.

A “decent draw” is how the former Welsh international striker describes the tie in his to-the-point verdict.

The games take place in February, the first leg in Glasgow on the 15th with Roberto Mancini’s side at home a week later.

Zenit, who are currently third in the Russian Premier League, will be in the midst of a three month winter break when the tie is played, Celtic will be hoping that gives them a slight advantage.

The Hoops will be hoping their home form picks up for the match in Glasgow against Zenit, as they lost all three Champions League matches played at Celtic Park this season.

Whilst the Bhoys qualified for the last 32 after defeating Anderlecht 3-0 in the Champions League group stages, Zenit finished top of a Europa League which included the likes of Real Sociedad and Rosenborg.

Celtic return to action in Scotland in midweek, with a match at home against Hamilton, as they look to maintain their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
