Jordan Henderson has completed a medical with Saudi outfit Al Ettifaq as he finalises a Liverpool move worth a staggering £120million in total, sources have told Football Insider.

The Anfield skipper, 33, has agreed a three-year contract with the Saudi club that will see his salary rise to £700,000 per week - more than £36million per year.

Liverpool have also accepted a bid for Henderson of £12million, to imminently end his glittering 12-year Anfield career.

Henderson underwent his medical in Manchester on Friday and is now waiting on paperwork for the deal to go through.

The plan is that he will link up with Gerrard’s squad at their pre-season training camp in Croatia next week.

Although the Reds have already lost two midfielders this summer and are undergoing a massive rebuild, they are now set to lose their captain of almost eight years.

Henderson took the armband from soon-to-be boss Steven Gerrard when he left Anfield in 2015 and has led the side to Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Uefa Super Cup and Club World Cup victories.
