Jota could be set to quit Celtic for new club after development - McAvennie
Frank McAvennie has claimed Celtic could sell Jota in order to keep hold of Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgios Giakoumakis.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker suggested Ange Postecoglou may have to sell star man Jota to facilitate signing another striker.
As quoted by the Glasgow Times (3 November), the Green and Whites boss insisted he could lose some of his first team regulars before his side feature in the Champions League again.
The Aussie added that he does not “fear” losing players and insisted exits will help him improve the team moving forward, as long as they can be replaced with better alternatives.
McAvennie suggested fan favourite Jota could be one of the players to go, despite his recent arrival at Parkhead.
“I do not think the fans will be too upset with whatever Ange does because it is for the better of the club,” he told Football Insider.

“I think everyone knows and I think Ange is now looking at Europe rather than the league. He knows he has got the players to win the league now.
“He might have to sell Jota to keep Kyogo and Giakoumakis.
“It was the first time for the two of them in the Champions League. Now they will be used to it and I can guarantee they will want another taste of it to show the fans that they can do it.
“You can never tell with Ange, he brings them out from left field and turns them into wonders.“
