Jota facing extended spell on sidelines after Celtic injury update - expert
Alan Hutton has suggested Ange Postecoglou will give Jota "as much time as possible" on the Celtic sidelines.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers right-back said Kyogo Furuhashi could replace the 23-year-old on the left.
The winger was not included in the matchday squad for the Celts against RB Leipzig on Tuesday (11 October).
Jota was subbed off at half-time in Saturday's (8 October) 2-1 win over St Johnstone.
The Aussie boss initially claimed it was to rest the playmaker.
But, as reported by Sky Sports (10 October), Jota picked up a muscle injury that caused him to miss the European clash.
The attacker has already scored five goals and provided five assists in 12 appearances so far this season.
When asked who would be able to replace the winger, Hutton told Football Insider: "I think you look at Kyogo, he could play out there.
"I think they have got options. [Daizen] Maeda, [Liel] Abada, [James] Forrest is coming back so you can move things about.
"Of course you want Jota to play. He is their star forward, he gives you that x-factor, he offers something different.
"I am sure Ange will give him as much time as possible to come through.
"I think they have got strength and depth in those wide areas."
Jota made 40 appearances for the Hoops across all competitions last season.
In those outings he scored 13 goals and provided 14 assists.
