French side Girondins Bordeaux have not received any bids for the signing of Brazilian winger Malcom this month despite being pursued by Tottenham and Arsenal, according to a journalist.
French reporter Manu Lonjon, who writes for Yahoo Sport, has claimed in an interview with Girondins 33 on radio programme Girondins Analyse, as transcribed on their website, that the president of Bordeaux, Stephane Martin, had not received a single offer for the 20-year-old prodigy, who has been linked with a big money move this month.
The Mirror’s Darren Lewis had claimed on his personal Twitter account on Friday that the club had opened early talks over snapping up the youngster, who arrived in France from Corinthians as an 18-year-old.
The speed machine has been in imperious form this season, with seven goals and six assists coming in his 23 appearances across all competitions.
Football Insider verdict
With just a week and a half left of the January transfer window left, Tottenham need to start getting deals on the move if they have any chance of securing some new recruits this month. The Lilywhites have been heavily linked with Malcom but with no bid on the table yet, it looks as though they are leaving it late to try and tie him up. The risk they have is negotiations taking too long and a deal falling through, so if they do want to see the prodigal talent arrive at the club, they will need to get down to business sooner rather than later.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club have confirmed a transfer deal for an international powerhouse.
