Tottenham will rebuff any approaches for their top stars while they are still competing for the Premier League title ahead of a proposed Manchester United swoop for Danny Rose, according to a journalist.
Amy Christophers, a freelance journalist who has written for the likes of Yahoo Sport and The Huffington Post, has claimed on her personal Twitter account that Jose Mourinho’s men are prepared to splash the cash to snap up the England left back in January.
United prepared to spend big money to sign Danny Rose in Jan – but hearing from my Spurs insider all bids will be rejected. No major players to be sold while they are in title race. #spicefers #thfc #mufc pic.twitter.com/W9jfxE6cWS

However it is said that Spurs will reject any offers for their star men while they are fighting it out at the top of the table, which will come as a huge boost for Tottenham fans with several of their key figures linked with moves away.
Rose, who has recently recovered from a major knee injury, has 147 appearances for the north London club under his belt as well as 14 England caps, and is contracted until 2021.
Football Insider verdict
This report is exactly what Tottenham fans will have wanted to hear heading into the January transfer window, with so much speculation surrounding every one of their star players. Rose is probably one of the men the club would be willing to let leave if the right bid came in, with Ben Davies a more than adequate replacement, but keeping a hold of the best players is the only chance they have of picking up some major silverware. Squad depth will be crucial with the Champions League and FA Cup matches in the new year, and as a result it appears Spurs have made the decision to retain all the bodies they can to better their chances.
