Journalist reveals why Newcastle ever-present completely missing from squad v Bournemouth

Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy is not suffering from injury and has simply been axed from the first team squad for the clash against Bournemouth on Saturday, according to a journalist.
The Chronicle’s reporter Chris Waugh has claimed on his personal Twitter account that there is nothing wrong with the 23-year-old, and that it appears to be a tactical choice from manager Rafael Benitez rather than an enforced one.

Newcastle revealed that the Spanish boss had chosen to name an unchanged starting XI from the side which pulled off a shock victory against Manchester United two weeks ago, a decision which left fans feeling relatively happy on social media.
However Murphy, who is celebrating his birthday on Saturday, found himself dropping from the bench, having been left unused against the Red Devils, to be replaced by centre back Ciaran Clark.
The former Norwich City man, who moved to St James’ Park from the Canaries last summer, has been an ever present in the Magpies’ match day squads across all competitions this season, either starting, coming off the bench or being left as an onlooker.
He has a total of 21 appearances for the club under his belt, and scored his first and only goal to date with a strike away at Manchester City.
