Jurgen Klopp’s odds to be next Liverpool manager revealed as Arne Slot exit confirmed
Jurgen Klopp is a leading contender to be the next Liverpool manager with one of the top UK bookmakers after Arne Slot was relieved of his duties.
Liverpool have announced that Slot is set to depart his role with immediate effect after a hugely disappointing 2025-26 campaign.
The Dutchman led Liverpool to a second Premier League title in his first season in charge following Klopp’s departure.
He was unable to build on that success over the last nine months, despite brokering the most expensive summer transfer window for a single club in the history of the Premier League.
They finished fifth in the league and failed to win any cups, meaning Liverpool are on the hunt for a new manager to succeed Slot ahead of next season.

Klopp has been working as Red Bull’s Head of Global Football since he left Liverpool after the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
He managed the Reds to eight major trophies in his near nine-year tenure at the helm, and could well be on their shortlist to return after two years out of management.

Klopp is currently priced at odds of 6/1 to be Liverpool’s next permanent manager with one of the UK’s leading bookmakers.
He comes in behind clear favourite Andoni Iraola (evens) and Luis Enrique (4/1), while compatriot Julian Nagelsmann is also given 6/1 odds to be next in the Anfield dugout.
Other candidates include Steven Gerrard (14/1), Simone Inzaghi, Unai Emery and Oliver Glasner (all 16/1), while Matthias Jaissle is 20/1.
What has Klopp said about returning to Liverpool?
Klopp insisted that he felt burnt out with coaching as he announced his Liverpool exit over two years ago, and he is still yet to return to the dugout as yet.
Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is under way.

He leaves with a Premier League title to his name and our deepest gratitude and appreciation.
It remains to be seen if he will make a return to Anfield now that Slot has been sacked, but the German did not rule such a move out on the Diary of a CEO podcast last October.
He said: “I said I would never coach a different team in England. So that means if, (I did return to England) then it’s Liverpool. Yeah, theoretically it’s possible.
“I don’t know exactly, I love what I do right now. I don’t miss coaching. I do coach now, but just different.”
For now, sources have told Football Insider that departing Bournemouth boss Iraola is the favourite to succeed Slot, and the same can be said for the bookmakers too.
