Juventus ‘confident’ of agreeing Bernardo Silva deal after he quits Man City

Bernardo Silva could be tempted to join Juventus because of the new project they are building under Luciano Spalletti as he prepares to leave Manchester City this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Silva has been closely linked with a move to either Juventus or Barcelona after announcing last week that he will leave Man City when this season ends.

Several Premier League sides have also been mooted to try and sign the 31-year-old, but he is set to look for a move overseas rather than remain in England.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Juve feel confident of landing his services because of their ambitious plans under the veteran boss.

Silva’s recent announcement has served as a boost to Man City’s transfer plans, as they now have plenty of time to plan ahead to replace him during the summer window.

Juventus confident of signing Bernardo Silva after Luciano Spalletti extension

Spalletti signed a new two-year contract extension as Juve manager earlier this month to end rumours around him potentially becoming the new Italy boss.

The Old Lady have won five of their last six Serie A games to catapult themselves into Champions League contention, and feel like Silva could be tempted to move to Turin ahead of a possible title challenge next season.

Silva’s remaining games for Man City as it stands

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Bernardo Silva is ready for a new challenge and that will probably be abroad.

“Barcelona are very keen on signing him. Juventus are planning a new project in Turin for next season as well, so they would like to sign Silva on a free transfer.

“I think they’re the two most likely landing spots for the Portuguese international.”

Pep Guardiola set to block Savinho exit despite recent struggles

Savinho has struggled for regular game time this season, with just five starts and 600 minutes played in the Premier League up to now.

He came close to leaving the Etihad Stadium to join Tottenham last summer before Guardiola stopped the move, and the same thing looks set to happen this time around.

Sources have told Football Insider that Guardiola wants Savinho to stay beyond this summer, as he still sees him as an important part of his squad.

Tottenham remain interested in his services, with an approach possible if they stay up, but a move will only materialise if he pushes for an exit.
