Kane's effort levels have dropped by '20%' in 'absolutely massive' Tottenham blow - Mills
Harry Kane’s effort levels at Tottenham may have dropped by “20 per cent” and it will have an “absolutely massive” effect.
That is the view of ex-England and Man City defender Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider as Kane continues his search for a first Premier League goal of the season.
The England captain failed to engineer a move away over the summer and his form has dipped as a result.
He missed the opening game of the season amid uncertainty over his future but is yet to find the net in the Premier League on his return.
“I don’t think he’s going to score as many goals as he would have done at Man City or as he did last season,” Mills told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.
“That may be because of the way Tottenham are going to play.

“There has to be disappointment from him. It’s ok saying ‘You’re a professional, get on with it’ but it only has to be a drop off of 15 per cent, 20 per cent, that’s absolutely massive for Kane. He may go from 20 goals in a season down to 15, 16. That’s a big leap.
“I don’t think it’s a surprise that it’s affected him. He was excited, looking for a move and it didn’t happen. Sometimes it takes time to get over that.
“Going into the international break, he’ll be looking to score a hateful against Andorra and score against Hungary as well.
“He’s back somewhere where he knows he’s looked after, he’s the captain, he’s the focal point and maybe a change will be as good as a rest.
“Maybe this is the perfect timing for an international break for Harry Kane and he can come back sharper for Spurs.”
