'Keep the bench warm' - Celtic fans fume over reported hunt for prodigal hot shot

Celtic fans on social media are unimpressed with reports that the club are closing in on a deal for teenage Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster.

The Evening Times claims that the Hoops are in talks with Liverpool to bring the 17-year-old prodigy to Celtic park on a year’s loan deal.

Brewster won the Golden Boot as top scorer in England’s under-17 World Cup victory last season, but despite this fans are not convinced about the prospect of bringing the player to Glasgow.

One supporter feared that he would end up spending too much time on the bench – similar to this season’s big loan signing, Charly Musonda – whilst another claimed that he would much rather have Old Firm title party hero Odsonne Edouard at the club, and feared that Brewster’s arrival could mean Edouard’s departure.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to Brewster’s seemingly imminent arrival:

If Brewster does sign for the Hoops, then Brendan Rodgers will have some big decisions to make up his strikers, as Edouard’s loan deal runs out at the end of this season, and there will no doubt be plenty of speculation about the future of Moussa Dembele.

Leigh Griffiths doe not seem in any hurry to leave though, but apart from him the Hoops could have some new striking options next season.
