Celtic fans on social media are unimpressed with reports that the club are closing in on a deal for teenage Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster.
The Evening Times claims that the Hoops are in talks with Liverpool to bring the 17-year-old prodigy to Celtic park on a year’s loan deal.
Brewster won the Golden Boot as top scorer in England’s under-17 World Cup victory last season, but despite this fans are not convinced about the prospect of bringing the player to Glasgow.
One supporter feared that he would end up spending too much time on the bench – similar to this season’s big loan signing, Charly Musonda – whilst another claimed that he would much rather have Old Firm title party hero Odsonne Edouard at the club, and feared that Brewster’s arrival could mean Edouard’s departure.
Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to Brewster’s seemingly imminent arrival:
Somebody else to keep the bench warm?

Except for Edouard perhaps????😁 😁 Know what you mean though. I don't mind "loaned with an option to buy"…..But we shouldn't be a nursery for other teams just to send them back without that option.

Why are we not signing players to improve the squad for Europe.

Brewster is quality but I’d rather have Edouard

A loan for a player who is 17,has never played a first team match and we will likely have griff,French eddy and maybe even mousse? Sounds legit 😂

Resigned myself that we will lose Dembele, But not Edouard as well. I was lead to believe that a fee was agreed for him upon the ending of his loan deal?

If Brewster does sign for the Hoops, then Brendan Rodgers will have some big decisions to make up his strikers, as Edouard’s loan deal runs out at the end of this season, and there will no doubt be plenty of speculation about the future of Moussa Dembele.
Leigh Griffiths doe not seem in any hurry to leave though, but apart from him the Hoops could have some new striking options next season.
