Kenny hails 'amazing' Fleck after 'incredible' Sheffield United update

Paddy Kenny has hailed John Fleck as “incredible” after it was revealed he is set to return to Sheffield United training.

The former Blades stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, can’t believe the midfielder’s recovery.

On 2 December, Heckingbottom was quoted by Yorkshire Live as saying Fleck, 30, will begin training during the week starting December 6.

The Blades boss also revealed the midfielder had already been back on the grass after suffering a seizure during the second half of his side’s win over Reading on November 23.

Kenny can’t wait to see what Fleck brings to the table following Sheffield United’s improvement in his absence.

“The lads who have come in over the last few weeks have done really well,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Obviously it’s great to have him back as we’ve found this new vein of form.

“It was a horrible thing to happen, just horrible. To see that he’s going to be back so soon is just incredible.

“I almost can’t believe it to be honest. It sounds like he’s been signed off to come back, I don’t think the club would risk him.

“I also don’t think he would risk himself because that’s a scary thing to go through.

“He’s coming back just in time, what a boost to have him back as we’re playing so well. It’s amazing for him.

Fleck has made 18 Championship appearances this season, scoring one goal and assisting another.

The Blades are next in action against QPR next Monday (13 December).
