Kenny tells Liverpool to sign 'unbelievable' Bellingham for '£100m' after source reveal

Paddy Kenny claims Liverpool should send a statement to their rivals by signing Jude Bellingham.

The former Leeds United stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims the midfielder could spend 10 years at Anfield.

A German source has told Football Insider (22 December) that Dortmund are attempting to tie down Bellingham, 18, to new terms after an outstanding start to the season.

The source explained that Liverpool are among the clubs who have been in touch about enticing the midfielder back to England.

Kenny claims Liverpool should pursue a ‘£100million’ deal for Bellingham before he agrees a new deal with Dortmund.

“Oh, wow, what a statement that would be,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He’s got loads of games under his belt for Dortmund and a few for Birmingham.

“Then you look and he’s got 10 or 12 England caps, what a signing that would be by the way.

“It’s a long-term thing. He’s only 18. He is unbelievable now so imagine how much he could improve under Jurgen Klopp.

“Even if Liverpool were to pay £100million for him, he could easily stay for 10 years.

“Then you are paying £10million per season for a player who is going to be one of the best in the world.

“Obviously there are wages and everything else but that’s a no brainer for me.

“It would be really exciting if Liverpool could get that one over the line.”

Bellingham has made 21 Bundesliga and Champions League starts among 24 appearances in all competitions.

It is understood Dortmund are attempting to sweeten the deal for Bellingham and his family by also signing his brother, Jobe, who is 16.
