Kevin Phillips hails 'excellent' potential signing after West Ham insider's transfer reveal
Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram could be a Craig Dawson-like signing for West Ham if they make a move for him this summer.
That’s according to former Sunderland forward Kevin Phillips, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Lundstram’s future.
Lundstram, 27, is out of contract at the end of the season and West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has linked the club with a move for Lundstram on his podcast.
Dawson has been very impressive since he joined West Ham on loan and he has established himself as one of the club’s top performers this season.
Phillips has been blown away by Dawson since his summer move from Watford and he claims Lundstram could have a similar effect at the London Stadium.
“He could be one of those signings like Dawson, going under the radar a little bit,” Phillips told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.

“Dawson has turned out to be an excellent signing and Lundstram could be exactly the same.
“Going there as a bit of backup but if you do well you can find yourself playing. Moyes knows what he wants.
“He doesn’t sign players if he doesn’t know they’re going to do the job. I was surprised when Dawson went there but Moyes knew about him.
“Lundstram could be a real shrewd signing if they get that one over the line.”
Lundstram has started 21 of Sheffield United’s Premier League games this season with the Blades fixed firmly to the bottom of the table and just four wins to their name.
He impressed last season as his five goals and three assists in the league helped Sheffield United secure an impressive ninth-placed finish on their return to the top flight.
In other West Ham news, this pundit claims the Hammers must make a move for one in form Championship ace before it’s too late.
