Celtic winger James Forrest has enjoyed the best season of his career. The winger, who had previously never hit double figures for the Bhoys, has scored 18 goals for the Hoops this season and has kept the likes of Patrick Roberts and James Forrest out of the side.
The 26-year-old was deservedly nominated as player of the year, and would have won the award if he hadn’t had a poor run of form in the second-half of the season.
The player returned to form in the 5-0 win over Rangers which clinched the league title though, as he scored his first ever goal against the Ibrox side with a superb finish.
It would be fitting if Forrest ended his great season in style, by leading the Hoops to their second successive domestic treble with victory in the Scottish Cup Final over Motherwell.
Forrest has a great record in cup finals for the Hoops, having scored the opening goal in this season’s 3-0 Betfred Cup Final win over Motherwell, the third of three cup finals he has scored in for the Bhoys.
If Forrest is on his game, his runs down the wing could cause the Fir Park side all kinds of trouble, and with his goalscoring touch it wouldn’t be a shock if scored in yet another cup final for the Hoops.
