Kieran McKenna is bookies favourite to be appointed Fulham manager after Marco Silva exit update

Kieran McKenna has been installed as the bookmakers’ favourite to take over as Fulham’s next manager.

The Cottagers look set to lose Marco Silva this summer, with his contract expiring.

The Fulham boss is close to reaching an agreement to become the Benfica manager, ending his five-year reign at the club.

Now, one bookmaker believes that Ipswich Town manager, McKenna, is the most likely man to replace the 48-year-old at 4/1 odds.

McKenna guided Ipswich back to the Premier League this season after finishing second in the Championship.

Marco Silva set to sign five-year deal with Benfica

The report explains that Silva is set to replace Jose Mourinho at Benfica, who looks poised to return to Real Madrid.

Fulham have attempted to sway their manager into staying at Craven Cottage, but this now appears in vain.

Talks are advanced between Silva and Benfica, and are edging towards a conclusion.

Silva had overseen Fulham’s return to the Premier League, where they are now an established club in the division.

This campaign, the Cottagers finished 11th, one point off Brighton and Hove Albion, who claimed eighth spot and European football.

Who else could take over from Silva at Fulham?

While McKenna may be the favourite to take over, many other coaches are linked to the post.

Thomas Frank is currently the second-favourite at 5/1. The Dane was once one of the most well-respected managers in the division thanks to his work at Brentford.

However, his torrid reign at Tottenham Hotspur has resulted in him being unemployed for most of 2026.

Oliver Glasner is also in the running at 6/1 ahead of his departure from Crystal Palace when his contract expires later this month.

Recently sacked Arne Slot and Liam Rosenior are also both considered outsiders at 8/1.

Slot was given his marching orders last week after a disappointing campaign with Liverpool, despite winning the Premier League title in the 2024-25 season.

Rosenior was also recently sacked from Chelsea just months after being appointed, following a torrid run of form at the club.

However, it remains to be seen who Fulham will look to appoint if Silva is to depart over the coming weeks.
