Klopp names potential replacement for Liverpool star under pressure to perform
Jurgen Klopp has given current Liverpool number one goalie Loris Karius six months to prove his worth, otherwise he will seek a replacement.
Speaking in a press conference, as quoted by The Mirror, the German born manager stated that buying to replace is never his first option,
“My favourite solution, always, is that we do it with our boys. They deliver, they improve,
“I saw a lot of good things in the games he played in the last few weeks and that is why he is in… but of course Loris has to deliver and he knows that.”
The German under-21 international showed signs of incosistency in the game versus Manchester City, with many fans believing he was beaten too easily by Leroy Sane.
Yet Karius keeps his place, forcing Simon Mignolet to consider moving away from Anfield to keep his World Cup chances alive.
However, Klopp has confirmed that there are a few irons in the fire reagrding potential replacements, should the current keepers fail to impress,
“I will only mention one name. Everyone talks about him with us and that is Butland.”
But for now, Reds fans will have to give the 24-year-old German a chance to prove himself, as it’s his job to lose until the end of the season.
In other Liverpool news, Reds fans have reacted as a huge reported transfer development could see a striker leave the Club for Italy.
