Bournemouth have lodged a £15million bid for Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe, according to a report.

The Sun claim the south coast Premier League club tested the water by tabling the offer for the England Under-21 international on Tuesday night.

It is said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is weighing up whether to cash in on Ibe four years after he was signed from Wycombe as a 16-year-old.

Ibe broke into the team two years ago under Brendan Rodgers and caught the eye with some impressive displays on the flanks but his progress stalled under Klopp in 2015-16.

It would be regarded as a major shock is Ibe was allowed to leave Anfield permanently in the summer but could be allowed to go out on a season-long loan in order to gain regular first-team experience.

Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with a shock summer move for the 20-year-old, who is also a long-term target of Watford.

Eddie Howe's team have made a move that would shatter their club-record transfer fee just days after losing Matt Ritchie to Newcastle.

However, Ibe was subsequently restored to Liverpool's starting line-up for Premier League matches against Bournemouth and Swansea.

The winger was also introduced at half-time in the Europa League semi-final first leg against Villarreal last Thursday ahead of the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Christian Benteke and was in the matchday squad for the key matches at the end of the season.
