The Liverpool Echo estimate defender Sakho will raise £30million, proven Premier League striker Sturridge would sell for around £20million and midfielder Markovic and left-back Moreno £15million apiece.

With other fringe players and youngsters, the total funds accumulated are set to rise to £100million.

American owners Fenway Sports Group are ready to hand Klopp all the proceeds of sales as well as a further £100million to take the total kitty available to £200million.

The Liverpool Echo report that there is a recognition among the hierarchy of the need to speculate to accumulate in order to push strongly for the title as well as compete in the Champions League.

Klopp’s side have delivered a promising campaign in which they have totalled 63 points from 32 league games to be positioned third in the table.

They will need a strong finish to be assured of a place in next season’s Champions League group stages, as Manchester United won 3-0 against Sunderland on Sunday to keep their own top-four hopes alive.

In other Liverpool transfer news, Chelsea have forced the Merseysiders to make a move for a 32-goal striker who is ripping up the top flight.
