'Knowing Sam & Danny...' - Exclusive: Robinson drops intriguing West Brom transfer reveal

Paul Robinson has urged Tottenham defender Danny Rose to move to West Brom before the transfer window shuts next week.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the 42-times England international, is adamant that the 30-year-old would work well under his former Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce.

The Sun claim Allardyce is “desperate” to bring the experienced left-back to The Hawthorns to help the Baggies in the relegation fight.

Rose has been frozen out by Jose Mourinho at Spurs and has not made a single matchday squad this season.

In October, this site that the London club were exploring the idea of mutually terminating Rose’s contract, but the player wanted a full payout if so.

When asked by Football Insider if a move to West Brom would be beneficial for all parties, Robinson said: “I think it would be a great move for him and for Sam Allardyce.

“Knowing Sam like I do, and knowing Danny Rose and the way he conducts himself, I think he is a player who would do very well under Sam.

“Sam is one of the most honest managers that I have worked for. Whether you want to hear what he has to say or not, he will tell you. I think Danny Rose would respect that. He would enjoy working under that kind of regime.

“There is a manager-player combination there that I think would work very well.

“Kieran Gibbs is there as well though so he could even play in a more offensive position, but to have his experience and character around the squad would be invaluable.”
