Kyle Walker has responded to the intense speculation about his future by hinting on social media that he is quitting Tottenham.

The Spurs right-back has changed his Twitter profile from a picture of him in a Tottenham kit to an image showing him representing England.

The alterations were noticed by Spurs fans at a time when widespread reports are claiming he has held showdown talks with Mauricio Pochettino about his future amid strong interest from Manchester City.

The Spurs fans Twitter account Hotspur Lane was among those who noticed the change to Walker's social media profile.

Walker has stayed silent while reports in the last fortnight have claimed he is ready to leave Tottenham but his move strongly suggests there is some substance to them and that he might not be at the club next season.

The right-sided defender has been dropped to the substitute's bench for three of Spurs' last five matches, including the key clashes against Chelsea and Arsenal, even though his peers named him a fortnight ago in the Premier League team of the season.

There have been suggestions that Walker is holding out for a bigger salary than his current deal, said to be worth between £55,000-a-week and £70,000-a-week.
