La Liga expert delivers bold verdict on Tottenham potentially signing Kounde

Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde amid interest from Tottenham in his signature.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker, who delivered weekly punditry for La Liga TV last season, claimed the 22-year-old is a “top, top player”.

Fabrizio Romano reported on 30th June that Spurs are in talks with the Kounde’s agents regarding a potential move to north London.

Tottenham are on the hunt for centre-halves this summer with two likely to arrive before the end of the transfer window.

As revealed by Football Insider (2nd July), Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have launched a bid for Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu.

The Japan international has told his inner circle that he has his heart set on moving to the Premier League club.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Kounde’s future, Campbell said:

“Kounde is a top, top player and it looks like he could be on his way out of Sevilla.

“I cannot see Spurs getting him though, to be honest with you.

“The way the manager situation has been handled there, I cannot imagine him wanting to join. It just doesn’t make any sense.

“I’m sure some Champions League clubs will be interested in signing him as well.”
