La Liga expert: This is what Leeds United fans can expect from 'incredible' Firpo
New Leeds United signing Junior Firpo is “incredibly fit, quick and strong” as well as “better” at defending than Ezgjan Alioski.
That is the view of former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell, who delivered weekly punditry for La Liga TV last season, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest arrival at Elland Road.
Leeds United confirmed the signing of Firpo, 24, on Tuesday on a four-year deal.
It is understood that United have agreed to pay an initial £12.8million for the left-back, rising to £15.5million with add-ons.
Campbell insisted there is plenty of reasons for Leeds fans to get excited about Firpo’s signing.
“Firpo is incredibly fit, quick and strong,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs. “He is really athletic.

“I think he will fit right into what Leeds want to do because technically he is very good, you have to be to play for Barcelona.
“I’d say defensively, he is better than Alioski as well.
“He hasn’t started that many games for Barcelona but you cannot read too much into that given that they have Jordi Alba ahead of him.
“He has looked good when he has played so Leeds fans, you can get very excited.”
Leeds United confirmed 24 hours earlier that last season’s left-back Ezgjan Alioski has left the club upon the expiration of his contract.
The club wanted to keep the North Macedonia international but he turned down both of their contract offers.
