Scouts deployed: Now La Liga giants ready to swoop for Tottenham star (not Alli) - report
By Danny Wright
Barcelona are looking to sign Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen in the summer, according to a report.
The Mirror claims that the La Liga giants have been sending scouts to keep an eye on the Danish playmaker since the beginning of the year and want to make him a part of their midfield for next season.
Interest in the key Tottenham man has intensified since Barca were knocked out of the Champions League by Juventus on Tuesday, which led to the club’s recruitment policy coming under fire.
Former Denmark international and Barcelona star Michael Laudrup could hold the key to getting the deal done for the Spanish club, and he will be used to convince Eriksen to make the Nou Camp switch.
The Mirror’s report says that Eriksen is on the Barca shortlist because of his large amount of assists this season.

The 25-year-old has made 43 appearances for Spurs across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and supplying a staggering 20 assists.
His latest came in the 4-2 FA Cup loss to Chelsea on Saturday, when his sublime long-range pass picked out Dele Alli.
A number of top clubs are reported to be keeping tabs on some of Spurs’ top talent.
The Daily Mail have previously claimed that Barca’s bitter rivals Real Madrid are interested in bringing Alli to the Bernabeu.
Eriksen recently signed a new contract keeping him at the club until 2020.
Football Insider Verdict
Tottenham simply cannot afford to let any of their top players leave the club in the summer but Mauricio Pochettino must win silverware in the next couple of seasons otherwise those men will want to leave. Barcelona can offer consistent trophies to their star players but they are due to change manager at the end of the campaign and that makes the move less attractive. The Danish international has not long signed a new deal in North London so if Spurs are going to lose him, they will be able to claim a huge transfer fee. However, it’s exciting times at Spurs at the moment. Despite the disappointment of the FA Cup – and probably the Premier League – this season, Pochettino is building a superb side and Eriksen will want to give the Champions League another crack in white after the poor campaign this season.
