Lamine Camara: Liverpool set sights on Monaco star ‘perfect for the Premier League’
Lamine Camara has emerged onto Liverpool’s radar as they eye several new midfield signings this summer.
Camara has been linked to several Premier League clubs ahead of the upcoming transfer window after a successful individual campaign at Monaco.
The 22-year-old has been a regular starter in Ligue 1 but is expected to move on this summer as Monaco could miss out on European football altogether.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Liverpool have joined the race to sign Camara alongside Newcastle United.
Liverpool’s transfer plans are shaping up ahead of the summer as they prepare for some midfield departures following their own disappointing campaign.

Newcastle have been scouting Camara this season, according to Football Insider’s sources, but the 22-year-old may not leave Monaco until after he goes to the World Cup with Senegal.
He ranks highly among Ligue 1 midfielders for several key statistics this season, with the Reds now keen on swooping in ahead of the Magpies in the summer window.

| Assists | 4 |
| Duels won per 90 | 6.7 |

| Possession won in final third per 90 | 0.97 |

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “He has been linked with a few clubs. He’s had another good season for Monaco and will go to the World Cup with Senegal.
“(Camara is a) very highly regarded player. He has been talked about for a long time as potentially moving to England, because he has the attributes to be a success in the Premier League.
“He’s physical, he can cover the ground, he’s got bit of defensive bite as well and obviously his athletic coverage does pique the interest of a number of English clubs.
“Liverpool are among them, and we do expect them to bring in a new number six in the summer to try and bolster their midfield, with some existing midfielders also likely to move on too.”
Liverpool want Bradley Barcola after Luis Enrique snub
Barcola was taken off at half-time for tactical reasons in PSG’s latest win against Lens to seal the Ligue 1 title, with Luis Enrique refusing to explain why he made the controversial decision.
The France winger was restricted to appearing off the bench in PSG’s previous three Champions League ties and is reportedly unhappy with where he stands with the boss right now.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Liverpool want to sign Barcola this summer and have been boosted by his recent struggles in Paris.
