Matt Le Tissier has singled out Marko Arnautovic as the key for David Moyes as he begins his task of steering West Ham clear of Premier League relegation.
Sky Sports pundit Le Tissier has claimed that if Moyes manages to get Arnautovic firing again then the Hammers will have no problem accumulating the required points this season.
Speaking to the Express, Le Tissier said: “I think for me the main problem at the moment at West Ham is they spent a lot of money for a marquee signing in the summer, in Marko Arnautovic. He’s not turned up.
“If you get Marko Arnautovic’s head right and get him playing consistently, he can be a big difference in that football team to the amount of points West Ham can accumulate this season.
“He is a talent, but at the moment he’s not doing it.”
Moyes was confirmed as the new Hammers boss on Tuesday morning after the board had taken the decision to sack Slaven Bilic on Monday.
Bilic had steered West Ham to an impressive seventh-placed finish in his first season at the helm, but trouble with star player Dimitri Payet last season meant the Hammers slid to finish 11th, and a disastrous start to this term leaves them in the bottom three.
Moyes begins his stint as manager with a trip to Vicarage Road to face Watford on the 19th of November.
In other West Ham news, Martin Keown has launched this blistering attack on Hammers fans.
