Exclusive: Luton Town green light Jerry Yates transfer
Luton have agreed to let striker Jerry Yates go out on loan before the close of the window, sources have told Football Insider.
Yates spent the second half of last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and finished as joint top-scorer at Hillsborough.
News of his availability is sure to alert a number of EFL and SPFL clubs looking to bolster their attacking options.
Yates has spent the last 10 seasons as a regular in the EFL, with notable spells at Swindon Town, Blackpool and Derby County.
The 29-year-old was allowed to pursue a Championship move in January after scoring seven goals in 29 games for Luton in the first half of last term.
He is set to attract suitors from across the UK as another Kenilworth Road exit beckons in the final few weeks of the summer window.

Yates came through the ranks at Rotherham, but spent most of his six seasons as a professional at the club out on loan.
He built a reputation as a goal-getter for promotion-chasing clubs by helping the Millers to reach the Championship in 2018, Swindon to win League Two in 2020, and Blackpool through the League One play-offs in 2021.
Yates' three-season spell at Blackpool was the most fruitful of his career, as he bagged 46 goals in 139 appearances for the club, including a 14-goal Championship haul in 2022-23.
He also scored 10 times in 42 second-tier games for Derby in 2024-25 after being loaned out by Swansea following a tough debut campaign in South Wales.
Yates' move to Luton has not worked out so far, with boss Jack Wilshere recently admitting that he may be allowed to move on before the close of the window.

Elsewhere in League One, sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Wigan are at the front of the queue to sign Chelsea youngster Walsh right now.
The 17-year-old midfielder has impressed coaches at Stamford Bridge and made four first-team appearances across the last two seasons.
Numerous clubs from the Championship and League One are keen on his services, but the Latics are currently favourites to complete a deal.
