Sources: Plymouth Argyle plot move for ex-Bolton star Victor Adeboyejo
Plymouth Argyle are plotting a move for striker Victor Adeboyejo, sources have told Football Insider.
The 28-year-old is currently a free agent after he left Manfield Town upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season.
Dundee United are also considering a move for the striker this summer transfer window.
This will add extra competition for Plymouth if they choose to pursue a move for Adeboyejo.
The striker netted once in 14 appearances at Mansfield last season before his six-month contract came to an end.
Adeboyejo previously had a successful spell at Bolton Wanderers, who he left in January 2026 after a lengthy spell out injured, and Burton Albion.
Who is Victor Adeboyejo?
Adeboyejo made his breakthrough at Leyton Orient back in 2014 and was then loaned out to six different clubs before he made a move to Barnsley in 2017.
At the Yorkshire club, he played a key role in their League One promotion campaign as they returned to the Championship in 2019 with a second-place finish.
After struggling to pick up first-team minutes, he was loaned out to Bristol Rovers and Cambridge United before making a permanent move to Burton Albion in 2022.
Here, he was a massive success and netted 13 times as the Midlands outfit avoided relegation.
This earned the five-foot-11-inch attacker a move to Bolton in January 2023, and he had a good start, netting 10 times in his first full season at the club.
However, an anterior cruciate ligament injury disrupted his 2024-25 campaign, causing him to miss the second half of the season.
He would go on to be sold in Mansfield in January 2026, with this spell at the club only lasting six months.
What other business could Plymouth complete this summer?
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Rangers were interested in Lorent Tolaj back in May.
The Swiss striker bagged 17 goals in 29 League One appearances for the Pilgrims, and was one of their best players from the 2025-26 campaign.
Fortunately for Plymouth, rumours regarding Tolaj’s departure have died down in recent weeks, which could indicate that he is now set to stay.
However, it remains to be seen where the striker will be playing his football in the 2026-27 campaign.
