Leeds United would “100 per cent” be interested in signing Julian Draxler this summer if he is interested in a move to the Premier League.
That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the prospect of the 27-year-old completing a switch to Elland Road at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
Draxler is fast approaching the final two months of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain and looks set to be available on a free transfer this summer.
Sport1 report the attacking midfielder, who has won 17 trophies in a highly decorated career, will be leaving the French capital at the end of the season.
The 56-times Germany international has contributed four goals and six assists in 29 appearances across all competitions this term but was an unused substitute against Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Leeds potentially signing Draxler in the summer, Campbell said:
“You could say it is a no brainer for Leeds but there will be quite a few clubs interested in a player like him on a free transfer.
“I am sure there are clubs interested who could pay him more. They would have to fork out on wages if they really wanted him.
“If they can get him they would take him, 100 per cent. I’m sure of that because he would add something to that Leeds team. He’s a great player.”
