Leeds United’s managing director Angus Kinnear has confirmed that the club are expecting to have a busy summer transfer market as they look to bolster their squad for the future.
The Whites had a relatively busy January window in comparison to their rivals, bringing in no less than four senior signings and a handful more hot prospects for the reserve side at Elland Road.
However, despite their numerous dealings, Kinnear has insisted that fans should be excited and expect to see more business conducted come the end of the season, with the Leeds chief reiterating that he feels as though the current squad are good enough to nail down a play off spot come the end of the season.
He revealed his high ambitions via the club’s official website for his programme notes against Cardiff City: “Our overarching strategy has, and will always be, to build our squad in the summer.
“All of our business is underpinned by sustainable financial management, to ensure today’s transfer policy does not damage the club in the long term.
“The business conducted reinforces Andrea’s commitment to continue to invest in the squad, which we still firmly believe is strong enough to secure a Play-Off place.”
Leeds currently sit 10th in the Championship, seven points behind six placed Bristol City in the last of the play-off spots, as a result of Saturday’s 4-1 thrashing at the hands of the Bluebirds, who themselves are pushing for promotion this season.
It extended the club’s winless streak to seven games across all competitions, a run which stretched back to their Boxing Day victory against Burton Albion, while their next game sees them take on eighth placed Sheffield United.
