Leeds expected 4-2-3-1 v Ipswich: Defender returns in nine changes
By Danny Wright
Leeds United are expected to make wholesale changes to their squad as they return to Championship action when Ipswich travel to Elland Road on Saturday.
Thomas Christiansen named an irregular starting line-up for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup win at Burnley and he is now very likely to revert back to the team that lost to Millwall last week.
The Whites are now likely to make a stunning nine changes which sees star defender Pontus Jansson possibly returning to the squad after he failed to earn a spot on the bench in the Burnley clash in midweek due to a knock he picked up at the New Den.
Andy Lonergan, Gaetano Berardi, Cameron Bortwick-Jackson, Mateusz Klich, Ronaldo Vieira, Kemar Roofe, Jay-Roy Grot, Stuart Dallas and Pawel Cibicki are all likely to lose their spots in the starting line-up for the meeting with Ipswich while Conor Shaugnessy and Luke Ayling could be the only ones to keep their places.
Felix Wiedwald is pretty much nailed on to return in goals behind a back four of Ayling, Shaughnessy, Jansson and Vurnon Anita.

Kalvin Phillips and Eunan O’Kane are expected to line up in the centre of Christiansen’s 4-2-3-1 formation which Samu Saiz in front of them in the No 10 role.
In-form duo Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez are in contention to return to their starting spots on the wing with Pierre-Michel Lasogga likely to lead the attack as the lone striker.
Liam Cooper is a doubt for the match with Ipswich but Jansson’s injury that forced him off the pitch against Millwall isn’t thought to be serious.
Leeds can strengthen their grip at the top of the Championship table with a win over Ipswich on Saturday afternoon, especially if Wolves and Cardiff drop points in their respective fixtures against Barnsley and Sunderland.
