Summer signing Marcus Antonsson could be recalled by Leeds to face Norwich on Tuesday evening in the EFL Cup at Elland Road.

The 25-year-old attacker has not started for the Yorkshire giants since the last round 1-0 victory against Blackburn on September 20th.

He has made three substitute appearances since, but Garry Monk is likely to bring the Swedish forward back in to lead his line.

The Leeds boss will be likely to make a straight swap with regular forward Chris Wood, alongside four other changes.

Gaetano Berardi will be likely to come in at right-back, as he steps up his recovery from injury, while club captain Liam Cooper will be expected to feature in the same way.

Goalkeeper Marco Silvestri has featured in the earlier rounds of the cup competition and will be expected to maintain his place as the competition shot stopper, while Alex Mowatt will be likely to come in to the line-up in Pablo Hernandez’ absence.

Monk’s favoured 4-2-3-1 system is likely to see Eunan O’Kane and Kalvin Phillips keep their places in their side as the club’s midfielders.

Attacking wingers Hadi Sacko and Kemar Roofe will also be likely to retain their place in the team as they look to cause a strong Norwich team problems.

Fan favourite and star defender Pontus Jansson will be likely to be rested in a congested fixture list, with an important clash against Midlands side Burton coming up on Saturday.

Leeds suffered humiliation in the cup competition in the last campaign, being knocked out by League One side Doncaster in the first round last season.

The England giants have won the competition once in their history in 1968 with a 1-0 victory over Arsenal.

In other Leeds team news, Kemar Roofe has stated the reason behind the clubs recent form is because the squad is beginning to gel a lot more as the season progresses.
