Leeds fans destroy 25-year-old after performance against Birmingham

By Amir Mir

Souleymane Doukara started the game for Leeds in their 3-1 win against Birmingham on Friday night – and fans on Twitter destroyed the 25-year-old for his performance.

Chris Wood opened the scoring in the Championship clash at St Andrew’s when Luke Ayling’s brilliant ball over the top found the in-form striker who dinked the ball over the on-rushing keeper.

It was a poor display from the away team thereafter and they were duly punished just after the hour mark when Craig Gardner leveled for the hosts.

The promotion chasers struck back when Wood hit his 22nd goal of the season, three minutes after Gardner’s strike with substitute Alfonso Pedraza making sure of the points nine minutes from time.

However, the Elland Road faithful were not pleased with Doukara’s display with one fan asking how they are in fourth place with players like him in the side.

During the match, many were calling for him to be substituted with one fan branding him lazy, another overweight and hopeless.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

This season Doukara has played 29 Championship, EFL Cup and FA Cup matches for his side, scoring five times and supplying two assists.

It was only the second time in his last five league games that Monk opted to start Doukara for this match, he has started a total of 15 encounters in the second tier this term.

In other Leeds news, Eddie Gray has stated which is the only team that can catch the club in the race for promotion.
