'Liability', 'Had a shocker' - Leeds fans destroy mainstay for performance v Aston Villa
Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to destroy Luke Ayling for his performance against Aston Villa at Elland Road on Friday night.
Ayling, 26, continued his streak of playing every single minute of the Championship this season in the 1-1 draw against Steve Bruce’s side, but many fans have started to suggest that the first-team mainstay is looking tired and needs a rest.
Pontus Jansson put Leeds ahead in the 19th minute as they looked to continue their recent resurgence.
However a swing in momentum after the break saw Henri Lansbury snatch an equaliser for Aston Villa to ensure that their march up the Championship standings wasn’t halted.
Leeds moved up to seventh with the draw but could have been level on points with sixth-placed Derby if they managed to hang on to all three points.
Although it was overall a decent result against one of the league’s high-flying sides, not many fans were impressed with Ayling’s display, with a lot of the Elland Road faithful pointing the finger at his poor passing.

One supporter stated that the right-back “had a shocker” against the Villains.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Just watched the game-controlled in first half but poor in second. Vieira and Phillips brilliant again -forwards poor after Pablo went off. Ayling terrible today. Overall good point as I thought Villa were going to Knick it #lufc

Is it just me or is Luke Ayling no longer the player he used to be?
Lost a yard of pace, not got his usual sharpness and is constantly making poor decisions
Luckily for him we have limited options in that department #LUFC #MOT #ALAW #RecallCoyle

Thought Saiz was off the pace today so so so right footed at times; ekuban can’t fault his effort n mixing it; Vieira and Pontus great; ayling liability at times; Phillips seems ineffective Felix ok got away with a flap #lufc

Ayling having a moment, shame it's lasting the whole second half! #lufc

I love Luke Ayling but his passing decisions last night could have really costed us. Quite a few times.
He was consistent and so reliable, but I really think he needs a rest. #lufc

Ayling has made 24 appearances across all competitions for Leeds this season, featuring in every game across the Championship and the clubs’ League Cup run, so calls for the ex-Bristol City defender to be rested are perhaps justified.
In other Leeds United news, Thomas Christiansen has pinpointed the turning point in the Aston Villa draw while also raving about this attacker.
