Leeds fans destroy midfielder after horror display v Burton
By Dominic Toner
Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips played 66 minutes in the 2-1 defeat against Burton on Saturday – and the club’s supporters were highly critical of his performance on Twitter.
The 21-year-old academy graduate has established himself as a regular in the first team, but was unable to impact the game at the weekend.
The Whites suffered a crushing loss at the Pirelli Stadium and that dealt a massive blow to their play-off hopes.
Garry Monk’s side are now three points adrift of the play-off places, with just two games remaining this season.
Marvin Sordell and Michael Kightly put hosts Burton 2-0 up late in the second-half and Kyle Bartley’s response turned out to be a consolation.

Leeds fans highlighted the display of Phillips and feel that teammate Eunan O’Kane would have been a better option to start.
Phillips was withdrawn for attacker Alfonso Pedraza in the second-half after failing to make up an impact.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Anyone who ever thought kalvin Phillips was good enough is the reason we have falling away. An awful footballer ???? #lufc

Viera MOM by a distance here. Phillips meanwhile is having a nightmare. Pub player. Drastically needs to improve or bring O'Kane on. #lufc

Phillips lined up alongside fellow youngster Ronaldo Vieira against Burton, a combination that has proved effective at times this season.
However, they were unable to dictate the play on Saturday and that played a major role in their defeat.
Monk has rotated between his several midfield options this season as he has the likes of Vieira, Phillips, O’Kane and Liam Bridcutt at his disposal.
Phillips could now be axed from the starting line-up ahead of their next game against Norwich.
In other Leeds news, David Prutton believes there is a double-eded sword feeling regarding this player.
