Leeds United fans have destroyed Gaetano Berardi on Twitter after he was sent off in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland at Elland Road on Saturday, with the majority of supporters wanting him gone.
Berardi, 29, has now been red carded six times for Leeds, with three of them coming this season.
The one-time Switzerland international was given his marching orders in the final phases of the game on Saturday for a reckless challenge on Black Cats winger Callum McManaman.

Many supporters often praise Berardi for his ‘never say die’ attitude, but it appears after this latest transgression, fans have had enough and want the full-back offloaded in the summer.
One angry supporter claimed that the Whites need to “get rid” of the hot-headed senior player.

The way I see it Berardi and O'Kane are the ones that are the real liabilities when it comes to reckless play. Get rid of them. Jansson needs some more discipline but it's not a real problem if you have some decent CB cover. #LUFC https://t.co/5w8FYllzbE

Hope that’s the last we see of him

@Wysdaily Its hard enough for Leeds closing out a game with 11 players, forget 10. 3 red cards in a season is unacceptable, Berardi is now a complete liability.

Berardi has been ever-present in the Leeds first-team this season, making 33 appearances in all competitions and scoring one goal which came against Newport County in the FA Cup Third Round.
He now looks sure to miss at least three games, which is not good news for Paul Heckingbottom who has Luke Ayling out for the rest of the campaign through injury.
Vurnon Anita may be the one who is called upon to return to the starting line-up.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites needs to re-sign this £60,000-a-week international attacker in the summer as he nears the end of his deal.
