Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to fume at Samuel Saiz’s attitude following his recent below-par performances.

The Spanish playmaker was hailed as a brilliant signing by supporters following his arrival last summer for a fee of around £3million from second-tier outfit Huesca.

Saiz was arguably Leeds’ outstanding player in the opening half of the season, with his classy performances helping to put the team in contention for a play-off spot and he was adored by a large section of supporters.

But the 27-year-old’s six-match suspension in January for spitting heralded a wretched run of results for United that has left their promotion dream in tatters.

Saiz’s own contribution has been fitful in the second half of the campaign, with supporters increasingly critical of his attitude on the pitch.
