'Shambles', 'Totally pointless' - Leeds fans go berserk after admission made by £500k signing

Leeds United fans have gone berserk on Twitter after Yosuke Ideguchi admitted that he is struggling to adapt to life in Spain during his loan spell at Cultural Leonesa.

Ideguchi, 21, was signed up by Leeds in January for £500,000 from Gamba Osaka, but even though he was widely reported to have been able to obtain a UK work permit, he was shipped out on loan to the Spanish Segunda Division.

In an interview with Marca, the Japan international said how he has found it difficult to adapt to the change in lifestyle, as well as the cold weather in Spain – even though the temperature was as low as -7°C in Leeds last week.

Whites supporters were left raging on Twitter once more by the club’s transfer policy after learning of Ideguchi’s troubles in Spain.

On the pitch things have not been great either with the midfielder earning just one start for Cultural Leonesa across all competitions and he is yet to complete more than 45 minutes in a game.

Leeds fans were furious and one claimed that his signing was “totally pointless”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Ideguchi was always seen as a signing for next season but it seems that he will be nowhere near ready to hit the Championship if he is struggling to adapt in Spain and get game-time.

The midfielder had better get his head down soon though as a place in Japan’s squad for the World Cup may come under threat.
