Leeds fans have message for Simon Grayson ahead of crucial Preston showdown

By Amir Mir

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson will take on his former club on Saturday afternoon – and Leeds fans on Twitter are hoping he can do them a favour in the crucial showdown.

The Whites have lost back-to-back matches in recent days which has dented their chances of finishing in the top six at the end of the season.

At this moment in time, Leeds are sitting in fifth, but a few more bad results could see the chasing pack of Sheffield Wednesday, Fulham and eight-placed Preston close the gap on them in the table.

Following their 2-0 defeat at Brentford on Tuesday night, the Elland Road faithful are hoping their team can get back on track against Preston who beat Bristol City 5-0 on the same night.

Supporters jokingly stated that Grayson and their former player Jermain Beckford will help them in their quest to finish in the top six.

Garry Monk will be hoping his side can put in the same performance from their last home match when they beat automatic chasers Brighton 2-0 in mid-March.

Nonetheless, Leeds supporters were hoping they can get back on track at the weekend with a little help from their former manager.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

The Yorkshire club have picked up some impressive wins on home soil during this campaign, including beating Aston Villa, Reading, Derby and most recently Brighton.

After this match, the Whites will take on Championship leaders Newcastle at St James’ Park in what will be a tough yet crucial fixture.
