Leeds United fans were distraught on Sunday after it was reported that their young left-back Tom Pearce could be on the way to the Premier League.
The Sun’s transfer specialist Alan Nixon reported that Everton were keen on re-signing the 20-year-old, who they released four years ago.
Pearce has only just made the breakthrough into the senior side after starring for Leeds Under-23s.
In five games he’s impressed enough to have a shot at becoming the club’s number one left-back, with Laurens de Bock not doing enough.
His passing and delivery from set pieces has caught the eye and he scored his first goal against Barnsley after a marauding run.
However, it looks like his performances have also put him on the radar of Everton and as the player is out of contract in the summer, he could move for a compensation fee.
That’s got Leeds fans seriously concerned and also angry that Leeds wouldn’t have ensured he was signed up on a long-term deal before putting him in the shop window.
Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans:
Let’s see if this owner has the bottle to keep our talent rather than sell it on for peanuts.

I like Tom Pearce looks a good lad but we need a new first choice left back anyway .. I was hoping Tom would be one of two good LB at the club next season but if he doesn’t want to stay and he wants to go back to play in the Everton academy then that’s on him #lufc

be fuming if we lose pearce to everton or any other team, his contract shouldn’t of been aloud to run out, i know we’ll get compensation but stupid on the clubs part for not tying him down to a new deal #lufc

Looks like Pearce might not re-sign hence the link with Pedersen! Why pop him in the first team without firstly securing his signature seems a fair question? Everton have previous by doing this before to us but slack from #lufc if it happens!
