Leeds United fans turned to social media to laud over summer signing Caleb Ekuban after his display in the draw against Aston Villa on Friday.

The Whites let a 1-0 lead slip to allow Steve Bruce’s side to snatch a point at Elland Road, with substitute Henri Lansbury scoring the equaliser in the second half with a low shot which deflected off the post and into the net.

It came after Thomas Christiansen’s men had dominated the first half, with Pontus Jansson netting his first goal of the season with a well taken header from a threatening ball in from a Pablo Hernandez corner.

However, just as the Whites had taken control of the opening 45 minutes, Villa came back and saw more of the ball in the second, and it was down to Lansbury to ensure that the pressure paid off.

Despite letting the lead slip, fans were impressed on Twitter by what they saw from some of the Leeds stars, with Ekuban receiving a lot of attention for what was deemed to be an impressive performance up front, with fans paying credit to his work ethic and determination.

Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

Ekuban was making just his sixth appearance for the club since signing from Chievo Verona in the transfer window, having suffered a broken bone in his foot which ruled him out of action for two months,
