Leeds United fans were left raging on social media after the performance of Pierre-Michel Lasogga in their defeat to Sheffield United at Elland Road on Friday night.

Despite Kalvin Phillips equalising following the Blades’ second minute opener, the Whites were unable to capitalise in front of their own fans and substitute David Brooks scored a late winner to seal the three points for the visitors.

It was a bad result for Thomas Christiansen’s side, who now find themselves seven points adrift of the top of the Championship in fourth place, with Sheffield United leapfrogging Wolverhampton Wanderers to lead the way, having only been promoted from League One last season.

Leeds fans were understandably disappointed with what they saw from their side, and many focused their frustration on striker Lasogga, who struggled up front, turning to Twitter to vocalise their anger.

Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

On loan from German side Hamburg SV, the 25-year-old has made a bright start to his career at Elland Road, netting four times and chipping in with four more assists in seven appearances, including one of each in the 3-0 win over Bristol City.

Leeds’ next match comes on Tuesday when they play host to Derby County.
