Ashley Fletcher is reportedly only hours from joining Leeds - and fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight at his imminent arrival.

The Mail claim the Premier League striker, 21, will transfer from east London to the Championship big hitters in the next 48 hours.

It is reported that Fletcher will join before the transfer window cut-off on Tuesday night and that it will be a loan deal that runs for the remainder of the season.

This comes just two days after Leeds completed the sale of midfielder Alex Mowatt to Barnsley.

The 21-year-old moved to the Tykes for a fee of around £500,000 after agreeing a two-and-a-half year contract that runs until the summer of 2019.

Mowatt's exit prompted mixed reactions from Leeds fans, who are more upbeat about the likely signing of Fletcher.

However, some fans are calling for more signings to revamp Garry Monk's squad in the next two days.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Fletcher is a product of the fabled Manchester United academy and moved to West Ham last summer after his contract had expired at Old Trafford.

He has made 16 senior appearances for the Hammers but has been on the fringes of the side, making only three starts for the London club.

Leeds have not yet signed any new players in the January window and Monk made the case for reinforcements following Sunday's humiliating FA Cup exit to non-league Sutton United.
