'Biggest fraud at club' - Leeds fans tear into favourite after loss v Sheffield Wednesday
By Danny Wright
Leeds United supporters slammed Gaetano Berardi on Twitter after his performance in the 3-0 loss at Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Sunday.
Berardi, 29, played all 90 minutes at left-back as he saw his side lose further ground in their bid for promotion as a Gary Hooper brace and a strike from Kieran Lee gave the Owls all three points in a big Yorkshire derby clash.
The one-time Switzerland international has been in good form for Leeds this season and has become a favourite of the fans for his no-nonsense style of play and willingness to put his body on the line to help his side out.
However on Sunday the full-back was singled out as one of the worst performers on the pitch in Thomas Christiansen’s side in what was their second defeat in a row.
Most Leeds fans feel that the club needs to sign a new left-back in the future with Berardi a right-back by trade and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson not looking up to the task.

One supporter dubbed Berardi as being the “biggest fraud” at the club as the Elland Road faithful tore into him on Twitter.

Berardi is biggest fraud at club. Good one on one defender and squad player, but far too average a footballer to be a starter #lufc

Berardi has not long returned to the Leeds starting line-up after he suffered an injury in the opening day win over Bolton.
He has started both of the last two matches in the Championship, both of which ending in defeats meaning Christiansen may soon to decide to ditch the Swiss defender and replace him with either Vurnon Anita or Borthwick-Jackson.
In other Leeds United news, Eunan O’Kane has made a massive admission after the loss against the Owls.
