Leeds have been linked with a £6m move for Middlesborough striker Rudy Gestede, but the Elland Road faithful are not at all convinced.

The news was released by Ed Aarons, the Deputy Editor for Sport on the Guardian, on his official Twitter page on Monday afternoon.

This comes after it was confirmed that Leeds' leading goal-scorer from last season, Chris Wood, had completed his £15million move to Premier League club Burnley.

Thomas Christiansen confirmed that he would be looking to replace Wood after the game against Sunderland on Saturday.

However, Leeds fans are not convinced that the 28-year-old Benin international is the man to fire them into the Premier League and took to Twitter to voice their displeasure.

Gestede only made the move to Middlesborough from Aston Villa in January for just over £6million.

However, he hasn't enjoyed a stellar start to life at his new club, scoring just three times in 23 appearances.

He has played all four Championship games for his club this season, scoring once and adding two assists.

Now, if the report is true and Middlesborough accept the bid, it looks like he's considered surplus to requirements at the Riverside.

The majority of Leeds fans won't be happy though, judging by their messages on social media on Monday.
