Bailey Peacock-Farrell commended Leeds United on Twitter for their second-half comeback against Bristol City – and fans responded by urging the keeper to return to Elland Road to push for the number one shirt.
Academy product Peacock Farrell, 21, has made only one senior Leeds appearance and is behind first choice Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan in the keeper pecking order at the club.
But Wiedwald made a major blunder in Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Bristol City as United went two goals down early on to their fellow promotion challengers.
The German, 27, missed his punch in the build-up to the opening goal from the visitors and was way out of position when Famara Diedhiou knocked the ball into his net.
The latest error from the 2017 summer signing was seized upon by United fans as evidence of his struggles this season and made called for him to be replace.
Peacock-Farrell hailed on his personal Twitter account a tremendous second half of a breathless encounter at Elland Road.
What a second half !!!! #mot
