Leeds United have revealed that they are delaying the introduction of a new badge until the 2019/20 season. This comes after the new badge that was unveiled was met by universal ridicule by fans and pundits alike. That led to a Leeds u-turn and the club asked for submissions from fans and they have said that they have received over 1,200 designs. In a statement, Leeds said that because of the amount of designs they had received and the focus on the 100 year anniversary, that the badge would be decided by a democratic vote later this year. The new badge would then be unveiled for the 2019/20 season. The news was reported by Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay on Thursday lunchtime.

Fans responded immediately, with most saying it was a smart move to delay it until the centenary season. A few made reference to the old design, with one fan saying he hopes someone has thrown it in the sea. Here are a selection of the best reactions from Leeds fan to the official club update:
