Leeds fans react to Lewie Coyle performance for Fleetwood in FA Cup win

By Danny Wright

Leeds United fans don’t think that Lewie Coyle is the answer to their full-back woes after he was sent off in Fleetwood’s FA Cup First Round win against Chorley on Monday night.

Coyle, 22, moved to the League One side on loan in the summer and has so far been very impressive, making 17 appearances across all competitions and supplying four assists.

He has earned rave reviews on social media after picking up multiple man of the match awards while playing for Fleetwood, helping them up to eighth spot in the third-tier standings.

On Monday, it was the chance for Leeds fans to sit down and watch Coyle play as his side’s FA Cup clash against non-league side Chorley was televised.

However with Chorley a goal ahead and looking like they were on course for an FA Cup upset, Coyle was shown a straight red card for a nasty challenge.

Even though they were down to 10 men, Fleetwood performed noticeably better and went on to win the game 2-1 thanks to late strikes from Devante Cole and Jack Sowerby.

Plenty of Leeds fans gave their verdict on Coyle’s performance in the FA Cup, but after seeing him sent off, not many were overly thrilled by the right-back.
