Leeds United fans have turned to social media to mock former manager Garry Monk after news broke that he had been sacked by Middlesbrough.
The north east side confirmed via their official Twitter account, as well as their website, that they had parted company with the former Swansea boss, having joined the club in the summer following his departure from Leeds.

He left Elland Road on bad terms, exiting contract talks over the summer to resign before heading to the Riverside to take over at Leeds’ Championship rivals.
Fans of the Whites were quick to take to Twitter to voice their opinions on his departure, with many suggesting that the grass is not always greener when you leave a club.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:
Leeds win, in playoffs at Christmas, monk sacked. If carlsberg did saturdays…

It never made sense for Monk to leave Leeds. His next job won't be as big as us or the Boro.

Monk took charge of 53 games while with Leeds, guiding them to a seventh placed finish in the Championship last season, having been appointed to replace Steve Evans in the summer of 2016, signing a one-year rolling contract.
His record at Middlesbrough saw the 38-year-old pick up 11 wins, five draws and nine defeats during his 25 games in the dugout, and he leaves the club sitting in ninth, three points off the play off spots following Saturday’s 2-1 win away at Sheffield Wednesday.
